Equiti Standard account

A low entry point with tighter spreads and still no commission.

Risk warning: Contracts for difference and spot foreign exchange are complex leveraged products. They carry a high risk of losing money rapidly, and losses can exceed the amount you deposit. Equiti operates a stop-out when account equity falls below 30% of required margin, but in fast markets positions close at the next available price and that is expressly not a guarantee — neither Equiti entity offers negative balance protection. Trading these products is not suitable for everyone. Never trade with money you cannot afford to lose, and seek independent professional advice if you are unsure.

Standard tightens the average spread to 1.4 pips and adds MT4 alongside MT5, while keeping commission at zero. It is the account most people settle on: cheaper per trade than Classic once you are trading with any regularity, without the commission arithmetic that Premier introduces.

What it costs

Also commission-free, but the average spread tightens to 1.4 pips — around USD 14 on a standard lot of EURUSD. Against Classic you are saving roughly USD 2 per lot traded, for a minimum deposit of USD 30 through Seychelles or USD 100 in the UAE. If you trade with any regularity, that difference compounds quickly.

Who Equiti says it suits

Equiti positions Standard for new to intermediate traders, and it is the account most people should default to. It is cheaper per trade than Classic, it adds MT4, and the entry cost is still trivially low. Unless you already know you are going to trade in size, start here.

Regulatory status

Equiti is a group of separately regulated companies. Which one holds your account depends on where you live, and they are not interchangeable — the terms below differ between them.

Equiti Brokerage (Seychelles) Limited

Regulated by the Financial Services Authority of Seychelles.

  • Securities Dealers Broker licence SD064
  • Company registration 8428558-1

Registered office: First Floor, Marina House, Eden Island, Seychelles

Who it onboards: Clients outside the UAE. Not available to residents of the United States, Belgium, Canada or Japan.

Equiti’s own risk warning for this entity: Margined FX and contracts for difference are complex leveraged products which carry a high level of risk and can result in losses that exceed your initial investment. We recommend you seek professional advice before investing.

Equiti Securities Currencies Brokers LLC

Regulated by the Capital Market Authority of the UAE (CMA), formerly known as SCA.

  • Category 1 — Dealing in Securities: Trading Broker in the international markets, Over-the-Counter Derivatives Contracts and Currencies in the Spot Market, licence 20200000026
  • Category 5 — Arrangement and Advice: Introduction – Promotion, licence 20200000352

Equiti’s own risk warning for this entity: Over-the-counter leveraged derivative contracts, including contracts for difference and spot foreign exchange, are complex financial instruments. These instruments come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You should consider whether you understand how these products work, whether you can afford to incur losses and whether you have the appropriate risk appetite. We recommend you seek professional advice before investing.

Equiti also operates FCA-authorised and CySEC-authorised entities in the UK and Cyprus. Both serve professional clients and eligible counterparties only and are not available to retail clients, so neither is offered here.

Standard account — common questions

4 questions

Who can open an Equiti Standard account?

UAE residents are onboarded by Equiti Securities Currencies Brokers LLC; everyone else by Equiti Brokerage (Seychelles) Limited. Neither entity accepts residents of the United States, Belgium or Canada; Seychelles also excludes Japan and the UAE entity is not directed at residents of Singapore.

What does the Standard account cost to trade?

Also commission-free, but the average spread tightens to 1.4 pips — around USD 14 on a standard lot of EURUSD. Can I switch account type later?

Yes. The account types are not a commitment — you can open a different one with Equiti once you have a feel for how you actually trade. Many people start on Standard and move to Premier only once their volume justifies the commission model.

Can I lose more than I deposit?

Yes, on any of these accounts. Equiti runs a stop-out when equity falls below 30% of required margin, but says explicitly that in fast markets positions close at the next available price, which could cost you the whole deposit or more. Neither entity offers negative balance protection.

How we are paid, and what we are not

  • Global Investments is remunerated by Equiti for introducing clients. That remuneration may be a share of the spread or commission on trades placed by clients we introduce, and it costs you nothing additional.
  • Global Investments and Equiti are separate and unaffiliated companies. We are not an agent, appointed representative or authorised representative of Equiti, and we cannot bind Equiti or accept money on its behalf.
  • If you open an account you become a client of Equiti, not a client of Global Investments. Your account, your money and your trades are held and handled by Equiti under its own regulator.
  • Global Investments does not provide trading advice or recommendations, and cannot manage, monitor or place trades on your account. Equiti provides an execution-only service: it does not give investment advice either. Any trade you place is your own decision.

Important: This page is information about a third party’s service. It is not a personal recommendation, not advice, and not an offer or inducement to trade. Global Investments is not authorised or regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority, and nothing here has been approved as a financial promotion by an authorised person. UK retail clients should not treat it as one. Account terms, spreads, leverage and minimums are set by Equiti and can change without notice — always confirm the current terms on Equiti’s own documentation before depositing. Leveraged trading is not suitable for most people saving towards a long-term goal; if that is what you are trying to do, speak to us about the alternatives first.
